Unlike other shopping apps that focus on price comparisons in a store, ShopAdvisor constantly searches for changes in price and availability. In the month of September, consumers placed more than $13 million of products on Watch Lists, and ShopAdvisor has alerted users to more than $1.1 million in potential savings.

Evoqu, Inc., venture-backed developer of ShopAdvisor, announced today the availability of its mobile client for Android devices. ShopAdvisor takes advantage of Android’s unique market-leading capabilities, such as integral voice recognition.

Unlike other shopping apps that focus on price comparisons in a store, ShopAdvisor is a shopping list that works for the consumer. The heart of ShopAdvisor is the Watch List, where users save gift and purchase ideas for later. ShopAdvisor keeps track of all those items, constantly searching for changes in price and availability. When the price shifts, ShopAdvisor alerts the user.

In the month of September, consumers placed more than $13 million of products on Watch Lists, and ShopAdvisor has alerted users to more than $1.1 million in potential savings.

In addition to price alerts, ShopAdvisor differentiates itself by providing qualitative advice through its Advise Me function. ShopAdvisor culls critical information from a variety of sources to provide shoppers with advice to make wise purchase decisions. Information includes price history, pros and cons, expert reviews, and buyer’s guides.

ShopAdvisor targets the consumer in the critical period between shopping and buying. Shopping is an experience that occurs over time, while buying is a transaction that is a discrete event. With support for multiple input methods such as voice-to-text, and barcode scanning, and by using the Watch List, ShopAdvisor has found a lightweight way to keep the shopper engaged all the way through to the transaction.

From its inception, ShopAdvisor has been integrated with Evernote. Users create a note with Evernote to remember a product they are interested in; ShopAdvisor analyzes the note, and refreshes it with product information and deals.

ShopAdvisor runs as a standalone app on Android, iOS, and also on the web.
